Altec 413-8A Woofer

Hi,

The 413-8A woofers used in the Santiago Model 879A and Granada, is a 15 "woofer, 3 inch voice coil for use in sealed enclosure. This is the information I got on this woofer. I wonder if anyone has T / S parameters, sensitivity, etc. (I have a pair in 861B enclosure 3.5 ft cubic) Thanks, Martin

I never tested the one I have, but I'd say they're the most forgiving of a small (sealed) box. Your 3.5 ft should be plenty. In a ~2ft box, mine plays the piano bottom octave with gusto.

(Not to say that a big vented box wouldn't work...) You do need to load it so xmax is avoided, they "snap" when they hit the stops. That's nasty.
